Otter Co-op in Abbotsford, BC, is hiring a part-time Kitchen Associate for the Highwayman Pub. You will report to the Kitchen Manager, performing dish duties, basic food prep, and food delivery while maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen and supporting fast-paced service.

Ideal candidates have some kitchen experience, strong teamwork and communication skills, and a commitment to safe work practices; FoodSafe Level 1 is an asset.

Otter Co-op is now accepting applications for a Part-Time Kitchen Associate at our Highwayman Pub located in Abbotsford, BC.

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:

• Collecting pans/dishes from the line
• Assisting with food preparations (cutting vegetables)
• Running food to the tables
• Stocking coolers and refrigerators and ensuring all equipment and other items are stored properly
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
• Operate in a fast-paced manner to provide all areas of the restaurant with clean, sanitized dishware
• Assist with various duties such as portioning food and cleaning/sanitizing to assist kitchen operations
• Maintain quality and speed of output
• Contribute to the Team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence
• Perform other duties as assigned

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Food Service Industry and:

• Previous Kitchen Associate experience is an asset
• Must have excellent communication skills, be able to work efficiently in a team setting as well as independently in a fast-paced environment
• Must have a strong work ethic
• This is a physical job requiring the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds on occasion
• Must be committed to a SAFE working environment
• FoodSafe Level 1 is an asset
• Preferred candidates will have open availability and be able to work a variety of shifts 7 days a week, including evenings and weekends
