Job summary

Otter Co-op is hiring a Part-Time Kitchen Associate for the Highwayman Pub in Abbotsford, BC. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you will assist with food prep, stock coolers, run food to tables, and maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment.

You should have strong communication, teamwork, and a solid work ethic, with the ability to work in a fast-paced setting. FoodSafe 1 is an asset; open availability is preferred for varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work efficiently in a team setting as well as independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have a strong work ethic and be committed to a SAFE working environment.
• This is a physical job requiring standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparations (cutting vegetables) and run food to tables.
• Stock coolers and refrigerators and ensure equipment is stored properly.
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen; wash dishes and sanitize surfaces.
• Follow nutrition and sanitation guidelines and maintain speed of output.

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:

• Collecting pans/dishes from the line
• Assisting with food preparations (cutting vegetables)
• Running food to the tables
• Stocking coolers and refrigerators and ensuringall equipment and other items are storedproperly
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
• Operate in a fast-paced manner to provide all areas of the restaurant with clean, sanitized dishware
• Assist with various duties such as portioning food and cleaning/sanitizing to assist kitchen operations
• Maintain quality andspeed of output
• Contribute to the Team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence
• Perform other duties as assigned
