Job summary

Nature Fresh Farms in Leamington, Ontario is hiring a full-time Kitchen Assistant. You will prepare all food orders, stock stations, manage inventory, and assist with daily deliveries to Sales, Farm and DC locations. The role requires 2+ years cooking experience, a valid driver’s license and a passion for healthy food.

Qualifications

• 2+ years cooking experience required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Food safety certificate is an asset.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Office).
• Ability to drive a mini-van and perform deliveries in all weather.
• Good time management in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player with a passion for healthy food.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food orders as requested in a consistent and timely manner.
• Prepare soup and salad for following days’ orders.
• Prepare veggies and other items needed for daily orders.
• Ensure orders are prepared to a high standard and delivered on time.
• Comply with nutrition, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Keep kitchen clean and dishes done each shift.
• Set up and stock stations with supplies.
• Manage inventory of food supplies.
• Maintain positive, professional relations with coworkers and customers.
• Complete deliveries across Sales, Farm and DC locations.
• Other duties as assigned.

We are currently looking to fill a full-time, permanent position for a Kitchen Assistantin our Kitchendepartment at our Leamington, Ontario facility.

What You'll Do:

• Prepare all food orders as requested in a consistent and timely matter.
• Prepare soup and salad for the following days’ orders.
• Prepare veggies and other items needed for daily orders.
• Ensure that all orders are prepare to a high standard and delivered simultaneously in a timely manner.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations, and safety standards.
• Ensure the kitchen area is clean and the dishes are done each shift.
• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies each day.
• Manage inventory of food supplies.
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
• Complete deliveries across the Sales, Farm and DC locations.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

• 2+ years of cooking experience; preferably at a restaurant.
• Valid driver’s license is required; must have a clean driving record and be insurable.
• Food safety certificate is an asset.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Office, Teams).
• Ability to drive a mini-van and willingness to complete food deliveries in all weather conditions.
• Good time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Be a good team player.
• A passion for healthy food.

What To Expect:

• Works in an industrial kitchen setting with hot and cool temperatures.
• Can work in a fast-paced environment.
• Performs deliveries in all kinds of weather.
• Shift is Monday - Friday days, with rotating Saturdays and assist with weekend events as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend, stretch, reach, twist, etc.
