Job summary

The Fleet Care Home in Dartmouth, UK, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support meal delivery in a clean, safe kitchen. The role involves assisting with preparation, keeping areas tidy and helping with deliveries and stock management.

Working with the Chef and team, you will help ensure meals are prepared to a high standard. Alternate weekends are required, with a supportive, well-organised kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Positive, reliable approach and good organisation.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Job description

Our care home, nestled in the picturesque town of Dartmouth in Devon, provides exceptional Residential, Nursing, Dementia, and Respite care for up to 79 residents, offering a serene and supportive environment where quality care meets coastal charm.

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 36 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
