Job summary

Pet Valu in Markdale, Ontario is hiring a Keyholder to support daily store operations and customer service. You will handle cashier duties, replenishment, and light banking while maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for pets and their families.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years in retail or customer service with a friendly, reliable attitude, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and flexible availability including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of retail or customer service experience.
• Working knowledge of POS systems.
• Outgoing, friendly personality with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Reliable means of transportation to and from the store.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• _cashier and customer sales.
• Preparing merchandise orders, banking and other miscellaneous paperwork.
• Placing small items into stock in the sales area of the store.
• Sweeping, dusting and other general store maintenance functions.
• Assist in unloading delivery vehicles of cases and bags of pet food and supplies and putting these into stock (items up to 50 lbs).
• Effectively open and close the store while following company procedures.
• In managers' absence, help set daily goals and tasks.
• Other duties and tasks as required.
