Job summary

Value Buds in Winnipeg is seeking a reliable Keyholder / Shift Lead for our cannabis retail team. You’ll be the face of the brand during your shifts, delivering friendly service while guiding customers through product knowledge and store procedures.

The role emphasizes leadership, hands-on operations, and compliance with cannabis regulations. Candidates should have retail or hospitality experience, a cannabis selling certification, and be able to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or hospitality with a customer-first mindset.
• Knowledge of cannabis product categories and education.
• Must have cannabis selling certification (Selling It Right, SellSafe, CRTP, CRWTP, or CanSell).

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience for every customer.
• Provide product recommendations and cannabis education.
• Support daily operations including merchandising and store upkeep.
• Operate the POS, handle payments, and issue receipts.
• Restock shelves, receive deliveries, and complete basic inventory checks.
• Ensure compliance with cannabis regulations, including ID verification.

About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated and dependable Keyholder to join our team. As a Keyholder, you’ll be the face of our brand, providing exceptional service while helping customers navigate the exciting world of cannabis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example, taking ownership during their shifts, and supporting both customers and teammates in a fast-paced setting.

What You’ll Do

• Create a welcoming experience for every customer

About You

• Previous retail, customer service, or hospitality experience
• Strong communication skills and a customer-First attitude
• Cannabis selling certification (Selling It Right, SellSafe, CRTP, CRWTP, or CanSell)
• Minimum age requirement based on province (18/19+)
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
• Eligible to pass a Criminal Record Check
