Job summary

Value Buds Railtown is hiring a Keyholder/Shift Lead to guide daily cannabis retail operations, deliver excellent customer experiences, and support merchandising and inventory tasks. This on-site role emphasizes leadership during shifts and compliance with cannabis regulations.

The ideal candidate has retail or hospitality background, strong communication, and cannabis certification to educate customers and maintain store standards.

Qualifications

• Previous retail, customer service, or hospitality experience.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
• Cannabis selling certification (Selling It Right, SellSafe, CRTP, CRWTP, or CanSell).
• Minimum age requirement based on province (18/19+)
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience for every customer.
• Provide product recommendations and cannabis education.
• Support daily operations including merchandising and store upkeep.
• Operate the POS, handle payments, and issue receipts.
• Restock shelves, receive deliveries, and complete basic inventory checks.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example, taking ownership during their shifts, and supporting both customers and teammates in a fast-paced setting.

What You’ll Do

• Create a welcoming experience for every customer

• Ensure compliance with cannabis regulations, including ID verification

About You

• Previous retail, customer service, or hospitality experience
• Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude
• Cannabis selling certification (Selling It Right, SellSafe, CRTP, CRWTP, or CanSell)
• Minimum age requirement based on province (18/19+)
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
• Eligible to pass a Criminal Record Check
