Value Buds Stony Plain East is looking for a Keyholder/Shift Lead to join our fast-paced cannabis retail team in Alberta. You will greet customers, educate on products, and assist with store operations and POS transactions.

Ideal candidates bring retail experience, strong communication, and cannabis selling certification. You’ll lead by example, support teammates, and ensure a compliant, welcoming shopping experience for every guest.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience required.
• Strong communication and customer-first attitude.
• Cannabis selling certification required (Selling It Right, SellSafe, CRTP, CRWTP, or CanSell).
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Criminal Record Check eligibility.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated and dependable Keyholder to join our team. As a Keyholder, you’llbe the face of our brand, providing exceptional service while helping customers navigate the exciting world of cannabis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example, taking ownership during their shifts, and supporting both customers and teammates in a fast-paced setting.

What You’ll Do

• Create a welcoming experience for every customer
• Provide product recommendations and cannabis education
• Support daily operations including merchandising and store upkeep
• Operate the POS, handle payments, and issue receipts
• Restock shelves, receive deliveries, and complete basic inventory checks
• Ensure compliance with cannabis regulations, including ID verification

About You

• Previous retail, customer service, or hospitality experience
• Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude
• Cannabis selling certification (Selling It Right, SellSafe, CRTP, CRWTP, or CanSell)
• Minimum age requirement based on province (18/19+)
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
• Eligible to pass a Criminal Record Check
