Job summary

Goodwill, Ontario Great Lakes is hiring a Keyholder to deliver exceptional customer service and support the donated goods retail operations. You will help create a welcoming environment, and contribute to the organization’s mission of WORK in the community.

No prior experience is required as onboarding and coaching are provided; we value flexibility and a willingness to learn, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

  • No experience required; training provided.
  • 1–2 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Health and safety awareness is an asset.
  • Satisfactory vulnerable sector check is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide world-class customer service by assisting donors and customers.
  • Assist in scheduling staff and preparing time and attendance reports.
  • Support store and donation center day-to-day operations with the management team.
  • Train, develop and supervise team members to deliver excellent service.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational image, security and safety policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe donor area.

What You Will Do:
  • Provide world-class customer service by helping customers, answering questions, and sharing your passion for our mission when greeting donors.
  • Assist in the scheduling of staff and preparation of time and attendance reports.
  • Assist the Manager or Assistant Manager in the day to day operations of the store and donation center.
  • Train, develop and supervise team members.
  • Assist the Store Manager in complying with all organizational image, security and safety practices according to policies and procedures.
  • Follow Goodwill’s Policies and Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Contribute to teamwork with added activities
  • Help to keep the donor area look clean, organized and safe
  • Responsible for opening and closing tasks, which includes working evenings and weekends.
What We Are Looking For:
  • Enthusiasm: excited to work with other people and teams.
  • Flexibility: able to work at various times, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Any experience is welcome—we will help coach you to gain these workplace skills:
    • Communication: effectively speaking with and listening to team members and customers to create a positive workplace.
    • Problem-solving: finding solutions to problems, being accurate, and using simple math such as counting, adding and subtraction.
  • 1-2 years of experience supervising people and processes simultaneously.
  • Health and safety experience an asset.
  • Satisfactory vulnerable sector check.
