Job summary

Value Buds Waterloo is seeking a motivated Keyholder/Shift Lead to join our cannabis retail team in Ontario. You will lead by example, welcome customers, and help navigate the cannabis product range while ensuring smooth daily operations and excellent service.

This role emphasizes product education, POS handling, and compliance with cannabis regulations. Prior retail or hospitality experience, a cannabis certification, and the ability to stand for long periods are required.

Qualifications

• Previous retail, customer service, or hospitality experience.
• Cannabis selling certification (Selling It Right, SellSafe, CRTP, CRWTP, or CanSell).
• Minimum age requirement based on province (18/19+).
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Eligible to pass a Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience for every customer.
• Provide product recommendations and cannabis education.
• Support daily operations including merchandising and store upkeep.
• Operate the POS, handle payments, and issue receipts.
• Restock shelves, receive deliveries, and complete basic inventory checks.
• Ensure compliance with cannabis regulations, including ID verification.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example, taking ownership during their shifts, and supporting both customers and teammates in a fast-paced setting.

What You’ll Do
