Job summary

TMX Group is seeking a Key Account Director to focus on growing revenue within Canada's top accounts. Reporting to the VP, Global Sales & Client Management, you will identify client needs, build multi-threaded relationships, and drive an account-based selling strategy across Datalinx products.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in Account Management and Sales within the Financial Industry.
  • Proven track record to prospect and achieve quota and KPIs.
  • Strong knowledge of the North American financial services landscape.
  • Experienced in connecting with key decision-makers using the existing network to achieve sales targets.
  • Excellent oral and written communication style, presentation skills and self-starter who copes with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the structure and potential for TMX Datalinx products within Canadian Key Accounts and sell to existing and new contacts.
  • Build out and manage a sales pipeline of 2.5x target across Datalinx product lines.
  • Identify client business functions that align with Datalinx product suite.
  • Identify buyer personas and collaborate with the Sales Specialist team to address client challenges.
  • Execute Account Based Selling Strategy with Strategic Account planning and multi-threaded relationships.
  • Conduct face-to-face client meetings to assess satisfaction, needs and opportunities and promote all TMX Datalinx products.

Reporting to the VP, Global Sales & Client Management, the Key Account Director will be passionate about growing TMX Datalinx revenues and creating awareness and fostering interest in the full product suite including: TMX proprietary data feeds , Canadian equity and derivatives market microstructure analytics, historical, reference and corporate actions data for Canadian fixed income, equities and derivatives. Datasets also include global benchmark and indices data and capabilities, global corporate events, global ESG datasets and US filings intelligence datasets. Platforms under the Key Account Director mandate include both RMS, Research Management Software and Colocation. The Key Account Director will identify needs and collaborate with the Sales Specialist team. The Sales Specialist Team includes Sales resources that focus on the requirements of Trading, Quant, Investment Management and Data Management business functions.

Key accountabilities
  • Understand the structure, business and in particular, the potential for TMX Datalinx products within the Canadian Key Account base, which includes both Sell-Side and Buy-Side accounts in order to identify and sell to both existing contacts and new contacts within the book of business.
  • Build out and manage a sales pipeline of 2.5X target. This pipeline will be diverse across all Datalinx product lines.
  • Understand the business functions within each client account that align with the Datalinx product suite.
  • Identify the correct buyer personas within these business functions and collaborate with the Datalinx Sales Specialist team to identify client challenges
  • Execute Account Based Selling Strategy across Key accounts including Strategic Account planning, and building out multi-threaded relationships across these accounts.
  • Conduct face to face client meetings in order to assess client satisfaction, needs and opportunities. This will include creating awareness of all TMX Datalinx products to existing contacts and new contacts within existing accounts.
  • Partner effectively with other members of the TMX Datalinx Sales Team, Product Managers, and Contract Analysts.
Must haves
  • 10 years + experience in Account Management and Sales within the Financial Industry, ideally both buyside and sellside
  • Proven track record to prospect and achieve quota and KPIs
  • Strong knowledge of the financial services landscape and ecosystem across North America
  • Experienced in connecting with key decision-makers while using the existing network to achieve sales targets
  • Excellent oral and written communication style, presentation skills and overall a self-starter that effectively copes with ambiguity
