Job summary

The Salvation Army in Canada seeks a Kettle Assistant for a short-term contract in West Kelowna. You will oversee kettle counting, deposits, and statistics for each location, while ensuring secure handling of donations.

You will train and supervise volunteers, schedule shifts, and maintain accurate timesheets and mileage reports; strong basic computer skills and cash handling experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school is an asset.
• Minimum one year of customer service experience.
• Money handling experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Attend training/orientation on The Salvation Army and the Christmas Kettle Campaign.
• Ensure all Kettle donations are securely handled per cash handling policies.
• Lead and assist kettle operations for West Kelowna locations.
• Prepare deposits and fill statistics for each Kettle location.
• Recruit and train volunteers; schedule and supervise as needed.
• Submit timesheets and mileage reports bi-weekly.
• Respond to questions from volunteers.
