Job summary

Daaxiigan Sḵ'adáa Née K-12 School seeks a part-time K-12 Collaborative and Learning Support Teacher to support inclusive education and multi-grade classes. Responsibilities include designing and evaluating educational programs, developing IEPs and Behavior Plans with the learning services team, and fostering an engaging classroom climate aligned with TRC Calls to Action.

Experience in planning instruction for a range of student strengths and needs is essential, along with strong interpersonal

K-12 COLLABORATIVE AND LEARNING SUPPORT TEACHER

Temporary Part-Time (0.4 FTE) K-12 Collaborative and Learning Support Teacher effective as soon as possible to June 30, 2027 at Daaxiigan Sḵ'adáa Née K-12 School.

Requirements

• A university teaching major, or its equivalent, directly related to the teaching position;
• Understanding and being committed to the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, including the eradication of existing and persistent equity gaps for specific groups of children;
• High level of skills related to successful classroom management, and to the development and maintenance of a positive classroom climate;
• Experience with multi-grade classes an asset;
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, instruct and evaluate learning activities for students' strengths and for their academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs;
• Assume primary responsibility for designing, instructing, assessing, and evaluating the educational programming of all assigned students;
• Working with the learning services and administrative team to collaboratively develop and implement Individual Education Plans and Behavior Plans;
• Knowledge of school-based teams;
• Be prepared to provide support in creating inclusive learning environments where students are connected, supported, engaged and challenged;
• Proven interpersonal skills, work ethic and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, education assistants, parents and administrators;
• Understanding of local resources and environment;
• Teacher Regulation Branch certification.

Competitive Salary: $48,089 - $34,383 per annum

Remote and Rural Allowance: $1,400 per annum

Travel Allowance: $482 per annum

Up to $2,000 relocation allowance upon submission of receipts
