Job summary

The Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for a sessional instructor for Introduction to Arts Education K-12 (EAE 201). The position is based in La Ronge, Saskatchewan, in person, from January 4, 2027 to April 23, 2027 (39 contact hours).

The role involves planning, preparation and delivery of course content across dance, drama, music and visual art, managing classroom activities and providing student feedback with culturally responsive approaches.

Qualifications

• Master of Education or graduate degree in the appropriate area with teaching experience in education systems.
• An understanding of Gabriel Dumont Institute values and post-secondary teaching experience is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with Indigenous student populations; needs University of Regina approval.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver course content for EAE 201 – Introduction to Arts Education K-12.
• Manage classroom activities to ensure an optimum learning environment for students.
• Evaluate student performance and provide consistent feedback.
• Implement culturally responsive approaches.
