Job summary

MTE Consultants in London, Ontario is seeking a Junior Structural Engineer to join our Building Structures Division. You’ll develop detailed designs for institutional, commercial and industrial buildings and perform calculations from concept to construction.

Working with a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll participate in project meetings, conduct field reviews, and ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• Solid understanding of building structural design and applicable codes.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed structural designs for institutional, commercial and industrial building structures.
• Perform engineering calculations and designs based on principles, experience and judgment to transform concept design to construction.
• Evaluate project information to identify design solutions and coordinate with the Project Manager, clients and consultants.
• Complete field review of projects at the construction stage.
• Attend and participate in design and project meetings.
• Other related duties as assigned.
