Job summary

Braber Equipment, a Canadian manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment, is seeking a Junior Purchaser to join our Abbotsford, BC team. You will manage purchasing activities, monitor inventory, negotiate with suppliers, and support cross-functional staff to meet cost and delivery targets.

The role requires ERP/MRP experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a Purchaser
• Familiar with ERP and MRP systems, Syspro preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities
• Works independently and in a team
• Able to build productive supplier relationships

Responsibilities

• Purchase goods, materials, components, or services to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets
• Oversee inventory levels and set open-to-buy plans
• Support purchasing and other departments and communicate supply issues
• Monitor risks and opportunities affecting the organization
• Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers to achieve savings
• Maintain supplier relationships and prepare performance reports
• Prepare purchasing reports on a daily/weekly/monthly cadence

About the role

Braber Equipment , a well-established Canadian manufacturer, distributer and wholesaler of agricultural equipment and parts, is seeking an experienced Junior Purchaser to join our team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets
• Oversee inventory levels and set the open-to-buy plan
• Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations
• Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization
• Negotiate and improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing procurement best practice tools and methods
• Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships and prepare supplier performance report cards
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly purchasing reports to analyze performance and make improvements
• Other duties, as required

Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a Purchaser
• Familiar with ERP and MRP systems, preferable Syspro
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Keen attention to detail and accuracy and strong analytical skills
• Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills
• Works independently and with a team
• Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders, and suppliers
• Effective problem solving
• Demonstrated commitment to professional and personal developmentEffective team player with strong communication and collaboration skills

Education and Experience requirements:

• Relevant business degree preferred; CPIM or CIPS or similar qualification is beneficial.
• 1 - 2 years’ experience or working in purchasing team within a manufacturing environment
