Job summary

Braber Equipment, a well-established Canadian manufacturer, distributor and wholesaler of agricultural equipment and parts, is seeking an experienced Junior Purchaser to join our team in Abbotsford, BC. The successful candidate will manage supply chain activities, negotiate with suppliers, oversee inventory levels and build strong supplier relationships to support operations.

1–2 years purchasing in manufacturing preferred; CPIM/CIPS beneficial.

Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a Purchaser.
• Familiar with ERP and MRP systems, preferable Syspro.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Works independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets
• Oversee inventory levels and set the open-to-buy plan
• Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations
• Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization
• Negotiate and improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing procurement best practice tools and methods
• Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships and prepare supplier performance report cards
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly purchasing reports to analyze performance and make improvements
• Other duties, as required

Qualifications

Education and Experience requirements:

• Relevant business degree preferred; CPIM or CIPS or similar qualification is beneficial.
• 1 - 2 years’ experience or working in purchasing team within a manufacturing environment
