Telecon Inc. in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia is seeking a Junior Project Manager (Structured Cabling) for an in-office role.

You will oversee small to medium scale projects, coordinate customer interactions, manage schedules, costs, subcontracts and closing activities using project management tools. The role requires 1–3 years of field supervision, experience with structured cabling or telecom projects, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years in field supervision and project management is required.
• Experience on structured cabling and/or telecom projects preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize workloads with Team Leader, Technicians and sub-contractors.
• Direct and lead team toward company goals and project objectives.
• Ensure health & safety and quality compliance, and drive safety culture.
• Monitor financial KPIs and propose corrective actions when needed.
• Coordinate customer communications, project costs, estimating, subcontracts, and close using PM tools.
• Source materials and participate in estimate preparation as required.

Telecon Inc. is looking for a Junior Project Manager (Structured Cabling) to join our team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

This is an in-office role based out of our location on Raddall Avenue.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Junior Project Manager is responsible for the successful and profitable management of structured cabling projects on a small to medium scale. He or she coordinates all interactions with the customer. Including but not limited to planning, scheduling, change management, communication, client relationships, project costs, estimating, subcontracts, and closing using project management tools. Projects are executed in compliance with the contract and in accordance with the industry and company standards.

YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

• Ensures projects are planned and organized according to company commitments and budget estimates
• Plans and organizes workloads in conjunction with the Team Leader, Technicians and sub-contractors according to project plans and specifications
• Directs and leads the Team Leads towards company’s goals and objectives
• Ensures compliance and implements company procedure with regards to health & safety and quality; drives a health and safety culture, leads by being an inspiring role model and setting examples to the team participates in the JOHSC meeting as a management representative
• Ensures financial KPI’s are followed and met. Proposes alternative solutions and actions when required
• Resolves operational issues
• Sources and purchases material as required
• Participate in estimate preparation as required
• Optimizes project productivity with regards to equipment and materials
• Manages resources to meet estimated costs
• Lead, communicate and live the company’s vision and culture

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

• Minimum of 1-3 years of field supervision and project management
• Previous experience working on structured cabling and/or telecommunication projects
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Ability to oversee and manage multiple projects concurrently
• Strong leadership skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to resolve operational issues
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Available to travel across the region as needed
• Use organizational expertise and management skills to reach financial and operational goals
• Identify and resolve technical, operational and organizational issues and problems
