Job summary

The Town of Erin is recruiting a Junior Planner to provide professional planning support for development applications and policy initiatives within the Planning and Development Services department. You will contribute to delivering planning and development services and support responsible community growth.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Planning or a related field with a minimum of three (3) years of related experience
  • Eligibility for OPPI/CIP membership
  • Knowledge of zoning by-laws, Official Plans, and planning processes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CloudPermit experience an asset

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service and professional planning information regarding land use matters and applications.
  • Coordinate intake, circulation, tracking and administration of planning applications and related documentation.
  • Draft planning reports with recommendations and coordinate comments from departments and the public.
  • Attend public meetings to present and answer questions from Council and residents.
  • Coordinate review and analysis of development proposals and zoning compliance.
  • Assist with Committee of Adjustment administration and notices.
