Our Individual Insurance team is looking for a Junior Medical Underwriter

This role involves assessing individual insurance applications to determine insurability through medical and non-medical criteria. Responsibilities include evaluating health-related risks, collaborating with medical professionals, and ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines.

Qualifications

• Fluent in oral and written communication in French and English
• Post-secondary degree in health sciences
• At least 2 years of experience in underwriting
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to make decisions and justify them clearly and concisely
• Knowledge of medical terminology (asset)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Organized, autonomous, with good time management skills

Responsibilities

• Perform individual insurance underwriting tasks
• Determine insurability based on medical and non-medical criteria
• Make final decisions on insurance files
• Conduct detailed analyses of medical issues, occupations, etc.

Customer Service

• Provide courteous and professional service to clients and brokers
