Job summary

Stantec seeks a Junior Mechanical/Piping Designer to contribute to the Integrated Design team in Canada. You will assist in a range of projects from studies to detail engineering across North America and internationally, focusing on piping systems and 3D modeling.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree, diploma, certificate or equivalent in a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in industrial consulting.
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset.

  • Collect and verify data in client facilities.
  • Prepare isometric drawings.
  • Represent field and interpret drawings.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Junior Mechanical/Piping Designer to join the Integrated Design team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects within the Energy and Resource sector, ranging from studies to detail engineering across North America and internationally.

Responsibilities
  • Apply design skills to prepare or coordinate contract drawings, sketches, and concept designs through to construction.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical group members, other Stantec disciplines and clients to achieve project success.
  • Successfully carry out assignments on project design teams.
  • Prepare P&ID and flow diagrams.
  • Effectively communicate with other team members in the department or project team.
  • Create drawings using AutoCAD, Plant3D, Cadworx, Inventor, SolidWorks, Revit, AvevaE3D, MicroStation, and other relevant tools.
  • Model and design piping and mechanical systems in 3D.
  • Collect and verify data in client facilities.
  • Prepare isometric drawings.
  • Represent field and interpret drawings.
Qualifications
  • At least 1–3 years of experience in the industrial consulting industry.
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
  • Strong collaborative skills while working with single or multi‑discipline teams.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Understanding of Stantec’s Employee Health and Safety (EH&S) program with a focus on safety in the field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Windows, Word, Excel, Access) is an asset.
  • Ability to work in an environment of constantly changing technology and project assignments.
Education & Experience
  • Technical degree, diploma, certificate or equivalent in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 1–3 years of experience.
Pay Range
  • Locations in Lower Mainland – BC, GTA & Ottawa, Ontario: $53,100.00 – $71,700.00 annually.
