We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and technically curious Junior Mechanical Engineerto support our growing team in the design and delivery of industrial refrigeration systems. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone in the early stages of their engineering career who is ready to apply their skills in real-world applications and grow within a supportive, experienced team.
This is a full-time position open to qualified candidates living in Toronto. The ideal candidate is eager to contribute, learn, and build their career in a specialized, in-demand field. Responsibilities
Project Engineering & Design Support:
- Assist in designing industrial refrigeration systems under the guidance of the CEO
- Help prepare engineering drawings, equipment layouts, and system documentation
- Support the selection of components and materials based on project specs
- Participate in load calculations and energy analysis with coaching from team leads
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with operations team to understand client needs
- Participate in project meetings, site visits, and technical reviews
- Translate technical requirements into clear documentation and reports
Learning & Development:
- Stay up to date with relevant codes, safety standards, and engineering best practices
Project Management:
- Track engineering tasks, timelines, and deliverables using internal systems
- Support coordination between departments to keep projects moving forward
- Help maintain organized project documentation and status reports
- Flag issues, delays, or risks to senior team members for resolution
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Technical Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Strong foundational knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and mechanical design
- Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
- Comfortable working with technical drawings, calculations, and system specs
Professional Skills:
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to manage time and adapt to shifting project priorities
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality work
- Willingness to grow within a team and take ownership of assigned tasks
Nice to Have:
- Co-op, internship, or field experience in mechanical or industrial settings
- Interest in refrigeration, HVAC, or industrial process design
- Basic understanding of project management tools or workflows
Hiring Process
- Application/questionnaire
- 5-minute video submission
- 60-minute Technical interview (includes basic design and problem-solving)
- 45-minute Final interview in-person
Compensation
- $80-90K annual salary
- 80 hours paid vacation annually (accrued)
- 40 hours paid sick / mental health / personal time annually, prorated (after 90 days)
