Job Description:

Junior Highway Design Engineer

Location: Abu Dhabi

The key responsibility for the Junior Highway Design Engineer role is to support the BIM Coordinator and our Project Delivery Teams in executing the day-to-day development, establishment, and implementation of BIM in Parsons' main office in Abu Dhabi. The BIM Modeler is required to possess strong CAD/BIM technical skills to produce 3D/2D models for model and drawing production, quality checking, coordination, and constructability analysis.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Support the BIM Coordinator and Project Delivery Teams in day-to-day BIM activities.
• Develop 3D/2D models for drawing preparation, clash reporting, and presentation, aligned with project standards.
• Extract 3D models for clash analysis, schedule review, and quantity surveying.
• Coordinate all Model interfaces with designers and engineers from other disciplines.
• Ensure models, drawings, and deliverables meet quality standards and BIM requirements.
• Prepare engineering drawings from models, including layouts, profiles, sections, etc.
• Develop and extract 2D geometry for reviews and meetings.
• Deliver Project Information Models (PIMs) according to protocols.
• Prepare BIM package submissions adhering to standards.
• Conduct clash detection and walkthroughs.
• Prepare models and reports for constructability analysis.
• Coordinate with the lead technical engineer to ensure timely delivery of tasks.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

• Civil 3D modeling and 3D workflow expertise.
• Knowledge of Civil 3D catalogs, libraries, standards, and naming conventions.
• Experience in extracting cut sheets and developing modeling templates.
• Familiarity with British Standards (BS/PAS Series 1192) and ISO 19650.
• Understanding of BIM data protocols and collaboration tools.
• Skills in clash detection, quantity takeoff, and asset information modeling.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering or ITI from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 3+ years of Civil 3D experience, proficient in current versions and CAD design.
• Ability to set up Civil 3D project files, problem-solving, and produce Civil 3D families.
• Strong computer skills and experience producing working drawings.
• Expertise in Civil 3D, including parametric modeling, Bill of Material, assemblies, and shared coordinates.
• Proficiency with BIM platforms such as Civil 3D, Navisworks, BIM 360, AutoCAD, and preferable tools like ProjectWise, Bluebeam, Dynamo.
• Experience with Roads & Highways projects.
• Knowledge of BIM standards (ISO 19650, PAS1192-2, BS1192).
