Overview :

We are seeking a skilled DC Infrastructure Engineer to join our team remotely, preferably in the Seattle, WA area or a similar time zone. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining our data center infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to support our growing infrastructure needs and demonstrate your expertise through your work.

Responsibilities :

1. Design and create layouts of data center infrastructure, including facilities structure, cabinets, overhead ladders and raceways, structured cabling, aisles (hot & cold), mechanical, electrical, servers, storage, and networking equipment.
2. Perform capacity planning and resource allocation to ensure scalability and efficiency of our data center environment.
3. Monitor and optimize the performance of data center infrastructure components to meet SLAs and business requirements.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed.
5. Implement and maintain security measures to protect data center assets and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
6. Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and migrations with minimal impact on ongoing operations.
7. Document configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
8. Stay updated on the latest data center technologies and best practices, recommending and implementing improvements as necessary.
9. Utilize AutoCAD to create detailed technical drawings and models for data center layouts and infrastructure components.

Requirements :

1. Strong knowledge of data center architecture and minimum design requirements for network, compute, and storage racks, including layers 2/3.
2. Proven experience in a colocation, inside plant, or telecommunications environment within large-scale data centers or telecom facilities.
3. Solid understanding of physical design standards and IT security best practices in data centers and colocation facilities.
4. Strong understanding of public cloud infrastructure and cloud-native applications, with demonstrable experience in scaling global production networks.
5. Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
7. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSE, VCP, Autodesk Certified Professional) are a plus.
8. Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software for designing data center layouts and infrastructure components.
