Job summary

Battlefield Equipment Rentals in Moncton, NB, is seeking a Mechanic Apprentice – Level 1 to learn from licensed technicians and support daily repairs on heavy equipment.

You will gain hands-on experience with power systems, hydraulics, and testing, while building a long-term career in the heavy equipment industry. A high school diploma and physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Enrolled in or completed a post-secondary Mechanic program with a genuine interest in learning.
• Basic understanding of preventative maintenance is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed technicians with daily repairs of equipment.
• Identify basic heavy-duty equipment power system problems using basic knowledge and procedures.
• Inspect and test engine components and systems per manufacturers’ recommendations.
• Inspect and test electrical/electronic components and systems per manufacturers’ recommendations.
• Inspect and test power train components and systems per manufacturers’ recommendations.
• Inspect and test and maintain suspension, steering, and brake components.
• Disassemble and assemble heavy equipment components to spec using shop practices.
• Use test equipment and schematics to assess fuel systems and subsystems.
• Apply hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge to testing and inspection of systems.
• Access data concerning repair procedures and updates via IT tools.
• Prepare logs, records, and documentation to standards.
• Communicate effectively to improve customer service.
• Develop personal growth plans to improve performance and relationships.
• Complete all work safely and per environmental and health policies.
