Job summary

Fairmont Chateau Whistler is seeking a Golf Greenskeeper / Turf Care - Junior Groundskeeper for a full-time seasonal role running through October 2026. You will support golf course maintenance, including grass cutting and course setup to meet guest expectations.

Starting pay is $21.60 per hour, with increases after 6 months and at three years to $27.65. Subsidized staff housing, meals, travel discounts, and golf/ski passes accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Experience in golf turf care is an asset but not required.
• Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
• Knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in grounds and landscape maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Offer professional, engaging and friendly service.
• Cut grass with self-propelled and push type machines.
• Perform general landscaping, hand-mowing and weed-eating duties.
• Maintain cleanliness and neatness of the course areas including cart paths, greens, tees and roughs.
• Rake bunkers and smooth sand, set the course for play.
• Handle labor-intensive digging, lifting and pushing tasks.

Golf Greenskeeper / Turf Care - Junior Groundskeeper

This is a full-time seasonal position, starting as soon as possible and ending in October 2026.

The Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Course is Audubon-certified and carved right into the slopes of the coastal mountain range. Working in the Golf Grounds department, the Groundskeeper team's high attention to detail ensures golf course maintenance is completed to exceed our golfers’ expectations.

Starting rate of pay: $21.60 per hour.

We recognize tenure through our compensation - hourly rates increase after 6 months and then yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $27.65.

Job Duties Include

• Consistently offering professional, engaging and friendly service
• Cutting grass with a wide variety of self-propelled and push type machines
• General landscaping, hand-mowing and weed-eating duties
• Maintaining cleanliness and neatness of the Golf Course area, including cart paths, fairways, greens, roughs and tees
• Smoothing bunker sand with hand rakes and machines
• Setting the golf course for play
• Labor intensive work in the form of digging, lifting and pushing

Qualifications

• Experience working in Golf course turf care is an asset but not required
• Class 5 Driver’s License
• Valid and Clean driver’s abstract
• Knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in grounds and landscape maintenance work
• Understanding of the rules of golf
