Job summary

Fairmont Banff Springs is seeking a Groundskeeper for a seasonal role in Banff. The position emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and high attention to detail to create a positive first impression for guests.

Starting rate is $20.80 per hour, with increases after six months and at three years to $23.72. The role runs from October 6 to April 15, offering outdoor work in alpine conditions and opportunities in a luxury hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Must have a Class 5 Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract in good standing.
• Previous landscaping experience is an asset.
• Solid physical stamina for long shifts in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Keep exterior property safe and clean, managing litter, spills, debris.
• Assist with snow removal and outdoor maintenance tasks as required.
• Support with seasonal projects and general property upkeep.

In order to exceed visitors’ expectations, a Groundskeeper takes enormous pride in the high attention to detail they give to the property’s safety, cleanliness, and maintenance. As our guests arrive, the exterior property is their first impression for their luxury stay.

Starting Rate: $20.80 per hour

We recognize tenure through our compensation. Hourly rates increase after six months, and yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $23.72

This position will start October 6 - April 15, this is a seasonal position.

Job Duties Include

• Consistently offer professional, engaging, and friendly service
• Ensuring the entire property is safe and clean: free of litter, spills, gravel, and plant debris
• Changing of rubbish and recycling bins, emptying of ash tubes, and replenishing of wood piles
• Labor intensive work in the form of shoveling, chipping, digging, lifting, carrying, etc. with a strong attention to detail
• Various snow removal tasks ensuring paths, sidewalks, stairs are free of snow and ice at all times
• Various tasks involving property maintenance, tree health, and firewood
• Assisting with various outdoor projects and seasonal requirements
• Other duties as assigned

Your Skills & Qualifications

• Must have a Class 5 Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract in good standing
• Previous landscaping experience is an asset
• Constant standing, walking, and bending throughout 8hr shift
• Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 70 lbs., sometimes up and down stairs
• Comfortable working on ladders while holding/lifting items
• Must be able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions
