Job summary

GEI Consultants is seeking a Junior Geologist or Geological Engineer to join our geotechnical team in Fredericton, NB. You will support field sampling, rock core logging, hydrogeological testing, and data analysis on exploration, mining, and infrastructure projects.

Ideal candidates have 1–5 years of related experience and are registered as a GIT or EIT with a Canadian professional association. The role requires flexibility to travel and work in challenging field conditions.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of geoscience field or geotechnical experience.
• Ability to travel locally, internationally, and to remote locations for 2–4 weeks.
• Ability to work in adverse field conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Field sampling (rock, soil, till).
• Rock core logging (geological/geotechnical).
• Hydrogeological testing (packer testing).
• Laboratory testing (sieve, hydrometer, Atterberg).
• Field inspections (rock/soil anchor testing).
• Data analysis and technical reporting.
