Job summary

Bruno's Contracting (Thunder Bay) is looking for a full-time Junior Estimator/Project Manager to join their heavy civil construction group. The successful candidate should be capable of reviewing project documents, preparing estimates, managing resources, and ensuring safety and productivity on site. A University Degree or College Diploma in Civil Engineering is preferred, along with strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents for takeoffs.
• Assemble takeoffs into detailed project estimates for bids.
• Schedule resources and supervise construction activities.
• Ensure productivity and safety in work completion.
• Report daily production and costs to supervisors.
• Coordinate and manage various functions as necessary.

Job description

Bruno's Contracting (Thunder Bay) Limited is a heavy civil construction group with over forty years' experience in heavy civil construction, road building, asphalt paving, materials production and demolition. We are currently welcoming applications for a full-time Junior Estimator/Project Manager capable of fulfilling the following requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reviewing drawings, specifications, project documents, and site conditions to prepare quantity and scope takeoffs for projects of small to medium scale.
• Assembling relevant takeoffs into detailed project estimates for bidding purposes.
• Daily scheduling of resources and field supervision of construction activities to ensure projects are completed within budget and in accordance with relevant specifications.
• Ensure all work is being completed in a productive and safe manner.
• Daily production and cost reporting to direct supervisors and senior management, as required.
• Various other coordination and management functions, as necessary.

SKILLS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
