Qualifications

  • 10 years of estimating experience in civil construction.
  • Post-secondary education in construction estimation, engineering, or related field.
  • Detail-oriented under high-pressure conditions.
  • Strong collaboration with engineers, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

  • Pursue upcoming quoting opportunities and review project specs.
  • Use SharpeSoft to create cost estimates, manage budgets, and track performance.
  • Create and submit estimates, tenders and quotations with attention to detail.
  • Coordinate with management to schedule and execute awarded projects.

Position Overview

Position Overview: As a Senior Estimator and Project Manager youwill be responsible for overseeing projects from the initial tender through tofinal completion. This includes managing the entire lifecycle of the project - frominitiating with the tendering process, preparing accurate cost estimates, andensuring that all work is executed according to project specifications, scopeand timelines. You Will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards ofquality and safety, while also meeting both client and consultant expectations.

In this role, you will work closely with Consultants,Clients, Subcontractors, Site Staff, Senior Management, and the Office tomaintain effective communication and collaboration. Your ability to coordinate these variousparties is crucial to maintaining smooth operations, mitigating risks, anddelivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively pursue upcoming quoting opportunities,review project specifications in detail.
  • Utilize SharpeSoft to create accurate anddetailed cost estimates, manage project budgets, and track financialperformance.
  • Create and submit estimates, tenders and quotationsin a timely manner; based on the Project Spec and drawings, with greatattention to detail, follow up on awards and scheduling.
  • Work closely with Management to schedule,prepare for and execute awarded projects.
  • Have a complete understanding of the specificationsof work for all projects related to earthwork, roadwork, sewer and watermain,bridge and demolition works.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potentialrisks and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Participate in regular meetings with Engineers,Clients, Site and Office Staff to follow up and coordinate work schedules todeliver the project on time and within budgets.
  • Liaise with office staff to ensure all activitiesare captured accurately and timely.
Required Knowledge and Experience
  • 10 Years experience in estimating,with a record of success preferably in Civil Construction.
  • Appropriate post-secondary education inconstruction estimation, engineering or another relevant field.
  • Thorough attention to detail; ability to performin a high-pressure environment with high accuracy.
  • An ability to be a team player, make a greatimpression, create and continue great working relationships with EngineeringTeams, Customers, Suppliers, Sub Contractors and Co-Workers.
  • Highly organized self starter, ability to manageand be accountable for multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365.
  • Valid and in good standing Ontario DriversLicense.
