Job summary

Onyx-Fire BC Division is seeking a motivated Estimator to join our growing Estimating Team. You will convert inspection reports into quotations for deficiencies and repairs, and prepare cover letters for proposals while coordinating with suppliers and field technicians.

You will work with Account Managers and Operations on urgent requests, follow guidelines, and uphold OH&S protocols in a fast-paced environment. Local candidates only, hours 8:00am–4:30pm.

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge of the Fire Prevention Industry is considered an asset.
• Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
• Strong time management and ability to manage high priority tasks while meeting deadlines.
• Computer literate and able to navigate various software systems.
• Ability to present technical data in clear and simple terms.
• Great attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Resourceful with proactive, customer-centric problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Convert inspection reports into a presentable format for clients by reviewing, editing, and finalizing data.
• Create quotations based on noted deficiencies/repairs from inspection reports and work scopes.
• Create the quotation / proposal cover letter.
• Liaise with suppliers and vendors for pricing as needed.
• Coordinate with Field Technicians to verify information on inspection reports and work scope.
• Follow department guidelines to achieve company goals.
• Assist and support internal departments as required.
• Collaborate with Account Managers and Operations on special or urgent requests.
• Communicate critical information to colleagues about vendors, pricing, and competitors.
• Maintain clear lines of communication to contribute to an efficient workflow.
• Adhere to OH&S protocols and company values.
• Additional duties as they may arise.
• Exposure to project coordination from quotation through to completion.
