Junior Drafting Technician/Technologist

The Junior Environmental Drafting Technician/Technologist role largely consists of preparing 2D plans for environmental site investigations, including but not limited to general site layouts, cross-sections, working with various sources to compile site plans for remediation purposes and/or prepare graphic presentations to support feasibility studies and proposals, as required. This job is open for hybrid work and other office locations.

Location – Calgary, AB/North York, ON/Winnipeg, MB/Vaughan, ON/Montréal, QC

The ideal candidate:

• Field of study in Drafting, Civil engineering, surveying, architectural, landscape design
• Completed post-secondary education in a related field (Certificate, Diploma, Degree, etc.).
• 0-2 years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience working with LiDAR and/or point cloud data considered.
• Experience working with AutoCAD Civil3D 2020 or later.
• Experience working with Surfer.
• Experience working with Pathfinder Office and/or other GPS processing software.
• ArcGIS plugin and/or ArcGIS data linking within the AutoCAD environment.
• MicroStation.
• Strong AutoCAD skills using version 2020 or later.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Self-starter with the competence to take initiative and go beyond what the job situation requires.
• Willingness to learn new skills and serve as support in a number of capacities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to change priorities to meet group needs.
• Knowledge of sciences and/or environmental industry would be considered an asset.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Eligibility for federal reliability clearance.
• Ability to work across a variety of time zones.
• Proficiency in English is required; French is not mandatory but will be considered an asset.
