CarbonRun is seeking a Junior Data Analyst intern to support the Science team from January to April 2027 (approximately 14 weeks) in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The role focuses on data collection, cleaning, and analysis of water quality and carbon cycling data.
You will apply advanced Excel, and code in R and Python, with geospatial analysis in ArcGIS, to help identify project sites and verify protocols.
CarbonRun is a fast-growing, venture-backed climate technology company developing river alkalinity enhancement (RAE) projects that improve river health while generating high-integrity, durable carbon dioxide removal.
We partner with communities, utilities, conservation groups, and governments to restore ecosystems and deliver measurable climate impact. CarbonRun has projects both currently operating and in development, alongside a pipeline of projects across Canada and globally, supported by committed offtakes and capital partners to enable execution and growth.
CarbonRun relies on accurate quantification, reporting, and verification data to develop and implement protocols for carbon removal in rivers. The Junior Data Analyst will support CarbonRun’s Science team by using strong technical skills, including advanced use of Excel and coding in R and Python, to analyze water quality, carbon cycling, and other relevant datasets, as needed, to identify potential new project sites, verify existing protocols, or develop new protocols. The Junior Data Analyst will apply strong problem solving and critical thinking skills to analyse real-world datasets to provide supporting evidence for CarbonRun’s technology.
This is a fixed-term student position running from January to April, 2027 (approximately 14 weeks).
