Job summary

Brunel is seeking a Junior Cost Control Specialist in Vancouver, BC for a 1-year contract. This role supports project controls, cost tracking, scheduling, and reporting on large-scale capital projects within an EPCM environment.

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will maintain cost data, prepare reports, develop Power BI dashboards, and collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure budgets are aligned with progress and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Owner’s team, EPC, or EPCM environment managing project controls and/or administrative functions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Proficient in preparing reports and presentations.
• Proficient user of Power BI and Excel (macros a plus).
• Exposure to Unifier or similar project controls tools is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Promote and adhere to safety, environmental, and workplace policies and procedures.
• Track and monitor project costs to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
• Maintain project cost data and support reporting requirements using project controls systems and tools.
• Monitor project progress, schedules, milestones, and performance metrics.
• Support planning and scheduling activities by analyzing cost and schedule relationships.
• Identify cost and schedule variances and assist with change management processes.
• Collaborate with procurement and contract teams to understand project commitments and purchasing activities.
• Work closely with engineering and construction teams to support project execution and technical deliverables.
• Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to support environmental, regulatory, and community-related project requirements.
