Cox & Palmer LLP in Halifax, a premier Atlantic Canadian law firm, is seeking a permanent, full-time Junior Corporate Paralegal to join our Corporate Services team. You will support incorporation, registrations, resolutions, and regulatory filings with attention to detail alongside a collaborative team.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of corporate paralegal experience, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to work independently while meeting tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Incorporate and organize Nova Scotia and Federal entities for profit and non-profit sectors.
  • Attend to extra-provincial registrations and name registrations with provincial registries.
  • Prepare annual and other routine resolutions and file with registries and licensing authorities.
  • Track time (billable and non-billable) and assist with regulatory compliance matters.
  • Support the corporate services team with ongoing corporate maintenance and filings.
  • Communicate professionally with colleagues and clients; contribute to team success.

We are seeking a permanent, full-time Junior Corporate Paralegal to join our Halifax Corporate Services team.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Working as part of a collaborative team, you will:

  • Incorporate and organize Nova Scotia and Federal entities, both for profit and non-profit;
  • Attend to the extra provincial registration of entities inside and outside of Nova Scotia;
  • Attend to the registration of business and trade names with the provincial corporate registries;
  • Prepare annual and other routine resolutions;
  • Submit filings with the provincial corporate registries, and other licensing authorities;
  • Attend to tracking and compliance matters relating to various licensing regulators;
  • Prepare and file Personal Property Security Act registrations;
  • Record billable and non-billable time;
  • Attend to other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of corporate paralegal experience
  • Excellent technical skills and exceptional attention to detail;
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment;
  • Strong competency in the usage of MS Office Suite;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines;
  • Ability to use good judgment and be resourceful;
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with colleagues and clients;
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to the team;
  • Knowledge of Athennian, an asset.
