• Assist in preparing and reviewing consultant terms of reference, proposals, designs, and tender documents.
• Support delivery of municipal cost-share projects, including stakeholder engagement and agreement preparation.

Qualifications

Required:

• University graduation in Engineering or Applied Science or Geology or Geophysics, or graduation from a recognized School of Architecture. No experience required. Eligible for in‑training status with the APEGA or for membership with the AAA.

Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

• 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

Assets and Requirements:

• 1 to 2 years of related experience in transportation, civil, or construction engineering is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of highway planning, design, construction processes, and project management principles.
• Understanding of construction practices, contract documents, specifications, and contract administration.
• Familiarity with highway design standards, departmental guidelines, and construction manuals.
• Basic knowledge of environmental requirements and right‑of‑way acquisition processes.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to make sound decisions and resolve issues in a fast‑paced construction environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Term of Employment: Permanent, Full‑time position.
• Hours of Work: 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
