Job summary

MPE Engineering Ltd is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to join its Water Resources team across Ontario, with preference for Sudbury. The role involves design, project management and client interaction on a range of water resource projects.

The successful candidate will work under experienced mentors, contribute to planning, design and construction activities, and support hydropower development and flood mitigation efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (accredited).
• Registration with PEO or another provincial regulator as an Engineer (P.Eng. or E.I.T.).
• 0–4 years of experience in project management, design, hydraulics, and contract administration.
• Experience in hydropower development, water management, flood mitigation, drainage and river engineering.

Responsibilities

• Management of projects, contract administration, construction management and design engineering.
• Prepare planning reports, design drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Perform construction administration and supervision duties.
• Collaborate closely with clients to meet project objectives.

• Position: JUNIOR CIVIL ENGINEER OPPORTUNITY

The successful candidate will take an important role in design and project management within MPE’s Water Resources team. The position requires a broad range of skills in a wide variety of water resource projects. We are open to applicants across Ontario, but preference will be given to those in Sudbury.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in Civil or Environmental Engineering,
• Registration with PEO, or another provincial regulator, as an Engineer (P.Eng., or E.I.T.),
• 0 to 4 years of experience in project management, design, hydraulics, and construction contract administration in the following areas of practice is desired:
  • Hydropower development, water management, water control structures, dam safety, flood mitigation, drainage, pipelines, irrigation development and river engineering.
• Self‑motivated, with good leadership, project management and client management experience; and possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare planning reports, design drawings, specifications, and contract documents,
• Perform construction administration and general construction supervision duties,
• Work closely with our clients to ensure their project objectives are met.
