Job summary

MPE Engineering Ltd. is seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineer to contribute to water resources, municipal infrastructure, drainage, irrigation, and dam-related projects across Alberta and Western Canada.

The successful candidate will collaborate with engineers, technologists, and project managers on planning, design, construction services, and client support, delivering high-quality solutions and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Registered with APEGA as a P.Eng.
  • 3–7 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience in planning, design, and construction of municipal or water resources projects.
  • Experience with hydrology, hydraulic analysis, and hydrotechnical assessments.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in planning, analysis, and design of water resources and civil infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, specs, and contract documents.
  • Support project managers to deliver on schedule and budget.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct site inspections and construction administration activities.
  • Provide guidance to junior engineers and technologists.
  • Assist with project management, budgeting, scheduling, and client relationships.
  • Contribute to growth of the Water Resources group.

Job description

This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of water resources, municipal infrastructure, drainage, irrigation, and dam-related projects across Alberta and Western Canada.
