Job summary

Antec Controls is seeking a Junior Buyer to support procurement of materials and services for daily operations. This entry-level role offers learning and growth with mentorship from Intermediate and Senior Buyers, enabling you to apply sound purchasing judgment for value and service.

Responsibilities include creating purchase orders, expediting, managing safety stock, and fostering strong supplier relationships while developing in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, procurement, or logistics.
  • 1–3 years' purchasing, procurement, inventory, or admin experience.
  • Willingness to learn corporate purchasing processes.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems (IFS) is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail with a customer-service mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Create purchase orders per corporate procedures.
  • Monitor open POs and assist expediting for production schedules.
  • Support safety stock management and inventory accuracy.
  • Provide high service levels to internal partners.
  • Build relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Participate in supplier performance reviews.
  • Assist Buyers with RFPs and sourcing.
  • Execute small RFQs with guidance.
  • Support cost-saving opportunities through analysis.
  • Ensure purchasing docs are complete and approved.
  • Participate in training and cross-training within the dept.

Job description

Junior Buyer - Antec Controls

The Junior Buyer supports the procurement of materials and services required for day-to-day operations. This entry-level role is designed for someone early in their supply chain career who is eager to learn, develop strong purchasing fundamentals, and grow within a collaborative team environment. With support and mentorship from Intermediate and Senior Buyers, the Junior Buyer will learn to apply sound purchasing judgment to achieve best overall value for the organization while delivering excellent service to internal customers.

Responsibilities
  • Create purchase orders for materials and services in accordance with Corporate Purchasing procedures
  • Monitor open purchase orders and assist with expediting as needed to support production schedules
  • Support the management of safety stock levels and inventory accuracy
  • Provide a high level of service to internal production and business partners
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Participate in supplier performance reviews and rating activities
  • Assist Buyers with RFP and sourcing activities
  • Execute small RFQs with guidance as needed
  • Support cost-saving initiatives by identifying opportunities and assisting with analysis
  • Ensure purchasing documentation is complete, accurate, and properly approved
  • Participate in training, development, and cross-training opportunities within the department
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of purchasing, procurement, inventory, or administrative experience
  • Willingness to learn corporate purchasing processes and procedures
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Comfortable using computers and learning ERP systems (experience with IFS or similar is an asset)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail, initiative, and a customer-service mindset
  • Basic understanding of how purchasing interacts with other departments is an asset
