Job summary

Fresh Prep is seeking a Business Development and Events Manager to drive corporate and community relationships across Alberta (Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge) and to accelerate customer acquisition and revenue. You will lead field ambassadors, manage events, and partner outreach to fuel growth.

What You'll Be Doing

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Development, the Business Development and Events Manager, is responsible for building corporate and community relationships in the Alberta region (Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge) to drive customer acquisition and revenue.

The manager works cross-functionally to turn opportunities into sales and sign-ups to meet or exceed business objectives. This role manages existing clients and partnerships to ensure ongoing satisfaction and retention, while actively prospecting new businesses within service areas across Alberta to drive continual growth. The Business Development and Events Manager also organizes and ensures the success of in-person and virtual activations (such as community events, trade shows, and farmers markets) by hiring, training, and scheduling field ambassadors.

Proactively reach out to new businesses and organizations across Alberta (Calgary, Edmonton, and Lethbridge) to introduce Fresh Prep to their audiences through market research and cold outreach to drive growth.

Leverage social selling (e.g., LinkedIn) and create a systematic, process-driven approach to partner outreach and relationship management.

Handle business and consumer objections by clarifying information, emphasizing benefits, and working through differences to a positive conclusion.

Hire, organize, and support the in-market execution of events with teams of field ambassadors to drive B2C acquisition, including scheduling, payroll submissions, and troubleshooting.

Meet or exceed agreed regional sales and acquisition targets by negotiating and closing business deals, executing in-person events, conducting B2B lunch & learns, selling in-box sampling opportunities, and more.

Nurture key customer relationships to identify new opportunities and ensure ongoing satisfaction and retention.

Work cross-functionally to turn opportunities into sales and sign-ups to achieve targets.

Keep track of monthly transactions and reconciliations.

Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to increased sales, sign-ups, and paying customers.

Use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

Track and record activity on accounts and monthly budgets. Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s sales management system.

What we are looking for

3+ years of sales and/or partnership experience in building co-marketing initiatives, event planning, or campaign management

Deep understanding of the business landscape in Alberta (specifically Calgary and Edmonton), with the ability to leverage existing connections to open new growth opportunities

Sales- and metric-driven, with strong motivation to hit and exceed business targets.

High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability

Self-starter who thrives working both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Ability to respond appropriately in high-pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanor

A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills

Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle to travel and transport event materials

Native proficiency in English; written and spoken. Proficiency in French is considered an asset

What You Can Expect

A 1-year contract with an OTE target ranging from $80,000–$90,000 (Base Salary + Commission)

A flexible hybrid schedule requiring 40 hours per week, with the autonomy to manage your schedule based on workload demands. Evening and weekend work will be required as needed.
