Job summary

Whizz in Toronto is looking for motivated individuals to join our workshop as Bike Mechanic Trainees. This role is designed for candidates with practical bike repair experience and a passion to grow into a full mechanic.

You'll train hands-on alongside skilled mechanics, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical bike issues, and maintain our e-bike fleet used by riders. Trainees who complete probation can transition to a full Bike Mechanic with higher pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Practical experience repairing or maintaining bicycles, through personal projects, freelance work, or informal experience.
• Interest in developing a long-term career as a bike mechanic.
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced workshop environment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift heavy objects.
• Availability on weekdays and weekends.
• Experience with e-bikes is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with assembling and preparing new e-bikes in our workshop.
• Learn how to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical bike issues.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on our fleet.
• Support senior mechanics with day-to-day workshop operations.
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
• Follow safety procedures and workshop guidelines.

Are you passionate about bikes and looking to turn your hands-on experience into a long-term career? At Whizz, we're looking for motivated individuals to join our team as Bike Mechanic Trainees.

This role is designed for candidates who already have practical experience repairing or maintaining bikes, whether through personal projects, freelance work, or informal experience - but may not yet have professional shop experience.

You'll work alongside experienced mechanics, receive hands-on training, and learn how to maintain and repair our fleet of e-bikes used by delivery riders across New York City. Successful trainees who complete the probation period will have the opportunity to transition into a full Bike Mechanic role with increased compensation and additional benefits.
