Job summary

ET Group is seeking an Installer/AV installation support staff to help with basic installation tasks and site preparation across client sites in Canada. You will assist with cable routing, equipment prep, logging deliveries, and maintaining safe, organized worksites while learning AV systems.

Development is focused on building foundational installation skills, tool handling, and understanding signal flow, with progression toward independent tasks and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• G class License required.
• Personal vehicle for daily travel between client sites.
• Proof of Insurance required.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
• Working at Heights training or willingness to obtain.
• Experience or training with AV manufacturers (Crestron, Biamp, QSC, Extron, Shure, Netgear).

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic installation tasks and site preparation.
• Support cable pulling, routing, labeling, and equipment prep.
• Prepare materials, tools, and crew for daily tasks.
• Receive and log incoming equipment against orders.
• Maintain safe, clean job sites and document changes.
• Support testing, verification, and RMA logistics.
• Join site mobilization and disposal activities.
• Follow safety protocols and AV best practices.
• Own daily time billing and reporting updates.

Job Description

Support the installation team by assisting with basic physical installation tasks, material handling, and site preparation while developing foundational AV installation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with cable pulling, routing, dressing, and labeling under supervision
• Supporting installation and pre-fabrication tasks of equipment (mounts, displays, speakers, racks building) as directed
• Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for daily tasks and upcoming work
• Receiving, verifying, and logging incoming equipment and materials against purchase orders or packing slips
• Maintaining clean, safe, and organized job sites throughout the project lifecycle
• Supporting documentation tasks including printing drawings, labels, staging packages, logging site changes, and reporting updates to the Installer/Technician
• Assisting with basic equipment testing, verification, and RMA process logistics (packing, tracking, returns)
• Participating in site mobilization and equipment disposal activities
• Adhering to company standards, safety protocols, and AV best practices
• Responsible for daily individual time billing

Developmental Responsibilities

• Developing professional site conduct including interaction with clients, GCs, and other trades
• Learning to read and interpret basic drawing packages and signal flow
• Developing proficiency with hand and power tools, cable types, terminations, AV system components and AV industry terminology
• Progressing toward independent execution of basic installation tasks
• Owns individual development by staying engaged with training resources, seeking guidance when needed, and continuously building skills aligned with the Installer career path.
• As project and business needs evolve, support the broader team by applying and expanding skills beyond core responsibilities

Considerations

• Work hours and locations to be altered as necessary based on client requirements
• Travel to various jobsites and locations required
• Ability to regularly climb and work from ladders
• Working at height training (or willingness to obtain)
• Basic tool kit (entry-level, with guidance on required tools)
• Participation in onboarding and continuing education curriculum
• Clearances as required
• Eligible for advancement to Installer when able to complete standard installation tasks independently and accurately with minimal supervision

Additional Information

• Annual salary range: CAD 45,000 - CAD 60,000 per year.
