Job summary

ET Group in Fredericton, Canada, is seeking an Installer to assist the installation team with basic physical tasks, material handling, and site preparation while building foundational AV skills.

You will perform cable pulling, routing, mounting, logging equipment, and help keep job sites safe and organized. Expect travel between client sites with a company vehicle and ongoing training.

Qualifications

  • G class License required for daily client-site travel.
  • Personal vehicle needed to commute between sites.
  • Proof of Insurance is required.
  • First Aid/CPR and Working at Heights recommended.
  • Training for AV manufacturers listed is recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with basic installation tasks and site preparation.
  • Support cable pulling, routing, and equipment preparation.
  • Help maintain clean, safe job sites throughout projects.
  • Log incoming equipment, time, and site changes.
  • Participate in onboarding and ongoing training to advance.

Job Description

Support the installation team by assisting with basic physical installation tasks, material handling, and site preparation while developing foundational AV installation skills.

Core Accountabilities
  • Assisting with cable pulling, routing, dressing, and labeling under supervision
  • Supporting installation and pre‑fabrication tasks of equipment (mounts, displays, speakers, racks building) as directed
  • Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for daily tasks and upcoming work
  • Receiving, verifying, and logging incoming equipment and materials against purchase orders or packing slips
  • Maintaining clean, safe, and organized job sites throughout the project lifecycle
  • Supporting documentation tasks including printing drawings, labels, staging packages, logging site changes, and reporting updates to the Installer/Technician
  • Assisting with basic equipment testing, verification, and RMA process logistics (packing, tracking, returns)
  • Participating in site mobilization and equipment disposal activities
  • Adhering to company standards, safety protocols, and AV best practices
  • Responsible for daily individual time billing
Developmental Responsibilities
  • Developing professional site conduct including interaction with clients, GCs, and other trades
  • Learning to read and interpret basic drawing packages and signal flow
  • Developing proficiency with hand and power tools, cable types, terminations, AV system components and AV industry terminology
  • Progressing toward independent execution of basic installation tasks
  • Owns individual development by staying engaged with training resources, seeking guidance when needed, and continuously building skills aligned with the Installer career path.
  • As project and business needs evolve, support the broader team by applying and expanding skills beyond core responsibilities
Qualifications

  • Working at Heights (recommended)
  • AV manufacturer Trainings (Crestron, Biamp, QSC, Extron, Shure, Netgear) (recommended)

Considerations: Work hours and locations may vary; travel to various jobsites and locations required; ability to climb ladders; willingness to obtain working at height training; basic toolkit; participation in onboarding and continuing education; clearances as required; eligible for advancement to Installer when able to complete standard installation tasks independently and accurately with minimal supervision.
