Job summary

BDO Canada LLP in Calgary is seeking a Junior Accountant to join the Assurance team in September 2027. You will leverage course-based knowledge to complete working papers, financial statements, and notice to reader engagements under regulatory standards, while building relationships with clients.

You will develop leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, pursue CPA designation with pre-approved programs, mentorship, and flexible opportunities.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or diploma completed with CPA prerequisites
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Efficiently utilize technical knowledge from courses to carry out work projects and assignments
• Prepare and complete working papers, financial statements, and notice to reader engagements per regulatory standards
• Gather evidence for Assurance and Accounting engagements
• Build positive working relationships with clients and effectively respond to requests and suggestions
• Participate in business development initiatives and identify new business opportunities with existing clients
• Effectively communicate with team members regarding progress updates and issues on an ongoing basis
