Job summary

ClaimsPro LP in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada is seeking two Junior Adjusters for desktop claims handling with potential to move to field roles. You will actively adjust claims while pursuing business development opportunities and maintain high client service standards.

The successful candidate will have insurance-related education or experience, strong Microsoft Office skills, and at least 1 year in claims adjusting. CIP designation or adjuster license is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school completion; university/insurance education preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive.
  • At least 1 year of experience in claims adjusting or related field.
  • Pursuing CIP designation or adjuster license is encouraged.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex legal documents and perform advanced numerical calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Prompt contact and follow up with policyholders and claimants.
  • Investigate causes and report findings with recommendations.
  • Identify exposures, advise reserves, and prepare action plans.
  • Provide high level customer service throughout the claims process.
  • Share after-hours customer service responsibilities when required.
  • Perform duties per established policies and procedures.

Job description

Company: ClaimsPro LP Junior Adjuster - Edmonton, Alberta, Canada We have an existing opportunity to add two Junior Adjusters to our growing team! The role will be desktop claims handling, which may eventually lead to a field role within the Edmonton area. The Claims Adjuster actively adjusts claims while ensuring that business development opportunities are maximized. This involves marketing and follow-up of opportunities in a timely manner. To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should have background/experience in insurance or insurance-related field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prompt contact and follow up with policy holders and claimants.
  • Investigate the cause and report to clients with solid recommendations.
  • Identify exposures, recommend reserves, recommend investigation required for exposure, prepare action plans, and negotiate fair and satisfactory settlements.
  • Throughout the claims process, you will provide high level of customer service to clients and the insured.
  • You will participate and share ownership and responsibility for after-hours customer service requirements when required.
  • Perform duties assigned to him/her in compliance with established work standards, policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Completion of high school education; University degree or post-secondary education related to insurance will be given preference.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive).
  • At least 1-year relevant experience in claims adjusting or related-field.
  • Ongoing commitment to education and learning; adjuster’s license, or currently pursuing CIP designation.
  • Effective analytical skills, including identification of cause-and-effect dynamics.
  • Able to draw valid conclusions and effectively communicate them.
  • Ability to interpret complex documents of a legal nature, perform and understand advanced numerical calculations including analysis of comparative information.
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, interviewing, negotiating, must be able to flex style appropriate to audience.
  • Proactive and positive approach to customer service ensuring that all inquiries are effectively dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills allowing you to effectively deal with conflict and difficult situations.
