As North America's favourite new wellness experience for dog lovers, we've hosted over 150,000 customers and have partnered with industry leaders like the NBA, TikTok, and Google.

We’re seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and driven individual to join the Puppy Sphere team as our Junior Accountant! You'll work closely with our finance team, gaining hands-on experience in payroll processing, financial reporting, bookkeeping, invoicing, and documentation. You’ll also assist with software tools like Connecteam and Asana to streamline operations and ensure efficient communication across teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop a strong foundation in accounting practices while contributing to a fast-growing, fun, and energetic company.

This is a full-time, hybrid role, based in Toronto.

The Responsibilities Include:

  • Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing for Canadian and U.S. employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments and addressing any payroll-related queries.
  • Financial Reporting: Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports, and assist in preparing financial statements and budgets for both entities.
  • Bookkeeping: Record daily financial transactions and maintain the general ledger to ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Monthly and Quarterly Reconciliations: Conduct monthly and quarterly bank and transaction reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Invoicing: Help generate, review, and send invoices to clients and vendors, and assist in following up on outstanding payments.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all financial records are organized, accurate, and compliant with Canadian and U.S. regulations. Maintain and update documentation for audits and reporting.
  • Software Utilization: Use Connecteam for employee scheduling, time tracking, and communication and Asana for project management and task coordination with the finance team.
  • Cross-Entity Collaboration: Coordinate with Canadian and U.S. team members to ensure consistent financial practices and data accuracy across both locations.

What we are looking for:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on accounting experience in areas such as bookkeeping, payroll processing, tax preparation, or financial reporting
  • Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Connecteam).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
