Job summary

StackTeck Systems Limited in Brampton, Ontario is seeking a Junior Assembler to unpack, disassemble and clean injection mold tools used in packaging applications. You will learn basic operations alongside experienced mold makers to build solid foundational skills in tooling.

Qualifications

StackTeck supplies a wide range of injection molds and IML automation used to produce plastic parts in applications such as caps, closures, medical, PET preforms, and thinwall packaging; as well as complete system integrations including IML.


SUMMARY:

The position of Junior Assembler involves unpacking, disassembling, and cleaning injection mold tools used in packaging applications. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced mold makers and assemblers to learn the basic operations, techniques, and skills required in the industry.



  • Shift: Day Shift Available.

  • Monday to Friday: between 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Uncrate and extract molds from their packaging.

  • Disassemble and clean molds to evaluate necessary repairs.

  • Troubleshoot components and document required repairs.

  • Clean mold/components and prepare them for the next stage of manufacturing.

  • Utilize a variety of measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, etc.

  • Use various hand and power tools to complete assembly and disassembly functions.

  • Read, interpret, and follow basic diagrams, engineering drawings, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble components.

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the work area and shop floor.

  • Assist senior mold makers with mold adjustments, repairs, troubleshooting, and other related tasks.

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.

  • Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and the health and safety of others who may be affected by their actions.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

TECHNICAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of plastic injection molds is preferred.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with hand and power tools.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to precision work.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.


CORE COMPETENCIES


  • Forklift license is an asset.

  • Previous experience operating a crane is an asset.

  • Ability to lift steel components weighing up to 30 lbs.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with others.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem solving aptitude.

  • Attention to detail: Ability to ensure tasks are completed accurately and correctly the first time.

The expected rate range for this role is $22.00 to $26.00 per hour. Individual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, job-related factors, and shift worked.
