Job summary

StackTeck Systems Limited in Brampton, Ontario, is hiring a Junior Estimator/Inside Sales to generate and process quotes for standard and custom components in the Molds & Automation divisions. You will handle web-based communications, orders and requests, and support the Commercial Manager.

The role requires a technical diploma or degree, knowledge of manufacturing processes, and ability to quote costs from 3D models or drawings.

Qualifications

  • College diploma or university degree in a technical field is preferred.
  • 2+ years inside sales experience is an asset, preferably in injection molding.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiar with manufacturing processes in a mold environment to ensure accurate quoting.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical aspects to sales, engineering and customers.
  • Exposure to machining, process planning and subcontracting for quoting.
  • Strong understanding of gross margins, currency conversion and job costing.
  • Intermediate level competency with MS Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Takes responsibility for all incoming communications (phone, email, fax, web) regarding spare parts and custom components.
  • Generates estimates including price and timing for requested parts.
  • Works with Sales to develop quotes that result in profitable orders.
  • Prepares timely estimates of materials, labor and equipment costs from models or drawings.
  • Prepares time-and-material quote requests as required.
  • Collaborates with Engineering, Accounting and Program Managers to ensure correct outcomes.
  • Cross-functions with sales, engineering, manufacturing, planning and logistics to resolve issues.
  • Maintains standard part price lists and participates in continuous improvement.
  • Verifies shipments to ensure a great customer experience.

Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually

StackTeck supplies a wide range of injection molds and IML automation used to produce plastic parts in applications such as caps, closures, medical, PET preforms, and thinwall packaging; as well as complete system integrations including IML. SUMMARY

The position of Junior Estimator/Inside Sales is responsible for generating and processing customer requested quotes on a timely basis, for standard and custom components for the Molds & Automation divisions. The Junior Estimator/Inside Sales will also facilitate all web-based communication, orders and requests. This role reports to the Commercial Manager and is a key role within the department.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Takes responsibility for all incoming communication, either by phone, e-mail, fax or web-based, with customers, with respect to spare parts and custom components for the Molds (including PET) & Automation divisions.

  • Generates estimates which include price and timing for requested parts.

  • Works closely with Sales team in developing quotes that will result in profitable orders for custom and standard component requests.

  • Prepares timely estimates of costs of materials, labor, and equipment for manufacturing projects based on 3D models or 2D drawings, and customer specifications.

  • Prepare ‘time and material’ quote requests as required.

  • Works with Engineering staff, Accounting and Program Managers to confirm that parts requested by customers meets the desired outcome.

  • Work cross-functionally with sales, engineering, manufacturing, planning, scheduling, supply chain and logistics to identify and resolve manufacturing, costing and shipping issues for standard and custom component orders.

  • Spend time with the mold estimators to learn, gather experience and help with complete mold quotes.

  • Maintains standard part price list.

  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.

  • Verify shipments to ensure we are delivering a great customer experience.

  • Act as a backup for Program Managers as/when necessary.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE


  • College diploma or university degree in a technical or engineering-related discipline is preferred; Mechanical Engineering Technology would be considered an asset.

  • 2+ years of recent experience in inside sales an asset, preferably in the injection molding industry.

  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

  • Familiar with all manufacturing processes, in a mold manufacturing environment, to ensure accurate quoting is performed.

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical aspects of mold components to sales and engineering teams as well as customer representatives.

  • Exposure to machining practices, process planning and sub-contracting experience for quoting.

  • Strong understanding of business concepts; gross margins, currency conversion, job costing.

  • Intermediate level competency with MS Excel

The expected salary range for this role is $60,000 to $70,000 annually.

Individual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, job-related factors, and shift worked.
