Job description

A global Automotive Parts Manufacturing company needs an Jr. Cost Analyst to join their team in the London, ON area. The ideal candidate will assist in analyzing and controlling production costs, preparing reports, and supporting cost optimization initiatives across the plant. This is a direct hire, full-time position, which comes with great benefit packages.

Jr. Cost Analyst Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in collecting and analyzing cost data to determine manufacturing costs and margins.
  • Conduct analyses of quotations on different products; compare forecasted costs to costs set by the manufacturer
  • Monitor production expenses and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
  • Investigating discrepancies to ensure the accuracy of current information and to make corrections if necessary
  • Maintain accurate cost records, including bills of materials (BOM), routings, and labor standards.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and purchasing departments to analyze cost drivers and support budgeting efforts.
  • Prepare detailed reports to support cost control and margin improvement efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned

Jr. Cost Analyst Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of accounting or finance experience
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivotable, Tableau, etc)
  • AS400 experience is big plus.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
