Trotter & Morton Group of Companies in Calgary, Alberta, seeks a Journeyperson HVAC Technician to join our Facility Services division. Read blueprints, install and service HVAC systems, and mentor apprentices while delivering high quality workmanship.

Role requires a trade certification and a minimum of 5 years as a Journeyman; chiller and cooling tower experience is an asset. Competitive pay, strong benefits, and ongoing training are offered in a safety‑conscious environment.

Formación

• Journeyperson HVAC certification or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Journeyman.
• Chiller and cooling tower experience is considered an asset.

Responsabilidades

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings or other specifications.
• Measure and lay out reference points for installation.
• Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components using hand and power tools.
• Measure and cut piping, and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment.
• Install, troubleshoot and overhaul heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
• Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices.
• Recharge system with refrigerant, test regulators and calibrate systems.
• Repair and replace parts for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems.
• Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches.
• Mentor apprentices

Trotter & Morton Facility Services provides 24/7 preventive and predictive mechanical system maintenance and repair to condominiums, commercial, and institutional buildings.

We currently have an opportunity for a Journeyperson HVAC Technician to join our team.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings or other specifications
• Measure and lay out reference points for installation
• Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components such as motors, controls, gauges, valves, circulating pumps, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators and compressors using hand and power tools
• Measure and cut piping, and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment
• Install, troubleshoot and overhaul entire heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems
• Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices
• Recharge system with refrigerant, check and test regulators, calibrate system and perform routine maintenance or servicing
• Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems
• May install, maintain and repair equipment in refrigerated trucks used to transport food or medical supplies
• Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
• Communicate with Dispatch team for personnel scheduling and service optimizationMay prepare work estimates for clients
• Mentor apprentices

Required Experience

• Trade Certification/ Red Seal
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Journeyman
• Chiller and Cooling Tower experience is considered an asset
